Haider Hashmi the guitarist for Aaroh band died yesterday

KARACHI: Haider Hashmi the guitarist for Aaroh and session player for many other artists died yesterday around 11 pm. The 40 year old musician was diagnosed with brain tumor a couple of weeks untimely and was quickly scheduled for a brain surgery.

Hashimi substituted Aaroh’s founding member and lead guitarist Nabeel Nihal Chishty when he forgot the band around 2004-2005 over a copyright conflict.

They created some of the most memorable songs like ‘Na Kaho’, ‘Pyar Ka Gael ’ and ‘Raag Neela’ to name a few. The band stopped making music for a while, after Aaroh’s lead vocalist Farooq Ahmed left the ring for good.
