ISLAMABAB: Justice Nasirul Mulk took oath as acting CJP

On Friday, Justice Nasir UL Mulk has taken oath as the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).

Nasirl-Ul-Mulk is the senior most judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The oath was superintend to him by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja in a simple, but dignified ceremony held here in the Supreme Court building.

Justice Nasirul Mulk will continue serving as acting CJP until the restoration of the CJP Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani on completion of his 10days tour of Canada.

Judges of the Supreme had attended the ceremony, Senior Lawyers and Law Officers of the Federation and Provinces, officials of Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan and Federal Judicial Academy. Syed Tahir Shahbaz, Registrar, Supreme Court, managed the proceedings of the oath taking ceremony.

President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Kamran Murtuza, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice, Anwar Kasi, all the judges of the Supreme Court and the former SC Registrar, Dr. Faqir Hussain also took part in the oath taking ceremony.
