Standing Committee of the Senate on Interior has been told that 82 serving personnel of the Afghan intelligence and judiciary have acquired Pakistani identity cards.
Chair of the commission, Senator Talha Mehmood told the members that according to a report by the news agencies (IAs), Pakistani identity cards were issued to 82 Afghan nationals, who are assisting in the Afghan intelligence and judicial system.
He stated that these cards are being released by some corrupt officials based on National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), while thousands of other Afghan citizens are also being issued Pakistani identity cards and passports.
During the meeting officials briefed the commission that the Islamabad City Project will be accomplished by next year, whereas 2000 security cameras will also be installed in the twin cities.
Moreover, the committee summoned the Secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and NADRA officials in the next meeting, regarding the verification of votes through thumbprints.
