The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to make a copy of Imran Khan’s nomination paper to Arsalan Iftikhar, son of ex-chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary.
Arsalan had filed a plea with the ECP to obtain copies of Imran’s nomination papers. The ECP is of the view that nomination papers are public documents, while Imran’s documents are also available along the ECP website.
Imran had filed nomination papers from four different constituencies, however the PTI chief retained NA-56 (Rawalpindi).
Informants in the ECP told that Imran had stated in his statement that carried out the conditions under articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
Arsalan is of the view that Imran had leveled false allegations against him and he subsequently settled to bring legal action in the course of filing disqualification reference against the PTI chief.
