ISLAMABAD: From 1st June Polio certification for foreign travel compulsory

Acquisition of polio certificate will be mandatory for people of every historic period and class traveling abroad from June 1, 2014, health services ministry said.


Granting to the ministry, pregnant adult females would also need to have polio vaccine before traveling overseas.

It stated that oral vaccination is not injurious for health of significant adult females.

Special counters for polio vaccine would be put up in a federation and the states.

The federation would issue vaccination certificate to provincial governments and the provincial governments would provide certificate to their hospitals.

Only patients suffering from AIDS would be impeccable from polio certification.

The card of polio vaccination will be valid for a year. The directive has been mailed to all interested departments.
