ISLAMABAD: Musharraf fails to come into hearings again

Former President Pervez Musharraf failed to seem at the hearings of Judges Detention Case and treason case on Friday (today).

The judge expressed anger and asked that why the accused did not come to the courtyard on which defense lawyer stated that his client was wanting in the hearing as he is sick.

A request was filed pleading the court to grant permanent exemption from the hearings due to his illness and security grounds.

On the other hand, Special Court resumed the hearing of the Article Six trial against Musharraf in Islamabad today. A three member bench, led by Justice Faisal Arab, heard the case.

In the hearing, Prosecutor Akram Shaikh pleaded the court to afford them time to tolerate by the court decrees.

He informed the tribunal that a letter has been mailed to the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) to furnish the statements of witnesses and documents.

At the audience yesterday, Special Court had told the prosecution to provide complete documents of the event to the counsels of defense.

The motor lodge has given prosecution time till Wednesday to submit the statements of the witnesses to Musharraf’s counsels and adjourned the hearing till 3rd June.
