Kamra Air Base attack was shot down in an encounter with law enforcers

KARACHI: On Thursday, a suspected mastermind of the Kamra Air Base attack was shot down in an encounter with law enforcers in the Musharraf Colony.

Police and Rangers mutually directed a raid in the Musharraf Colony on a tip-off regarding presence of criminals in the neighborhood. Witnessing approach of law enforcers, militants used to indiscriminate firing on them. Nevertheless, in recrimination fire a terrorist Bilal Khan was cause to death.

Police sources stated that Khan was linked with the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. Rangers’ spokesperson said Khan was a mastermind of the Kamra Air Base attack. A heavy cache of weapons and munitions were recovered from his custody.

Heavy-armed militants dressed in uniforms had stormed a Pakistani Air Force base in Islamabad on August 16, 2012, sparking heavy clashes that left nine people dead, officials alleged.

For now, a Lyari gang-war suspect was shot down in an encounter with Rangers in Macharr Colony. He was identified as Nauroz Chandio. Sources said the deceased was involved in more than 30 cases of extortions and robberies.
