Speaking to media in Karachi, Shah said decisions should be made in parliaments, rather than through agitation on roads.

He said Pakistan People’s Party struggled for 40 years for democracy in the nation.

Before this week, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Dr Shireen Mazari met Shah and discussed with him several issues including the naming of the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

The position of the CEC has been vacant and PTI leaders held consultations with Shah regarding the designation of a suitable person for the position.
