Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday approved the much-awaited Rapid Transport System for the country’s commercial hub Karachi.
In a high-level meeting here, the prime minister approved the labor under which Green Line Bus Service will be set up in the metropolis at the earliest.
He stated that the federal regime will contribute Rs15 billion for the project while the balance of the cost will be apportioned by the Sindh government and the Karachi city government.
PM Sharif also directed the agencies concerned to take up work on the task right away.
He said if even Sindh didn’t contribute its part, the federal government will support the entire cost of the project.
