LAHORE: India releases 37 Pakistani prisoners

Indian agencies have released 32 Pakistani fishermen and five civilians, four days after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

Officials said the prisoners came back home through Wagah Border, Lahore.

Pakistan on Sunday released 151 Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture a day ahead of Nawaz Sharif’s visit to New Delhi, where he attended Modi’ oath-taking ceremony and had talks with Indian leaders in a bid to turn a young page in Pakistan-India bilateral ties.
