Law and order situation was created to defame KP government: CM Khattak

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak said that he would expose every party, which was involved in stoking up violence during the local government elections in the province.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Wednesday, Chief Minister Khattak denied any involvement in pre-planned rigging. “Law and order situation was created to defame the provincial government,” Khattak explained.

“We are preparing a report on election-related violence. The report will be made public.”

Khattak added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had called for the deployment of army for the elections, but Election Commission gave no answer.

To a question, Khattak said that government had no role in arrest of senior ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain. “There is zero political interference in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police,” Khattak maintained.
