LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore dismissed the bail plea of Gullu Butta, who was involved in smashing the cars during the clash between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and the police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat on June 17.
A special court of the ATC had sent Gullu Butt to jail on 14-day judicial remand during the final hearing on July 19 after which the accused had filed a bail application. The prosecutor opposed his bail plea. After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed Gullu Butt’s bail application.
It may be noted here that Butt, who is likewise believed to be a police taut and PML-N worker, was caught vandalizing private vehicles with his nightstick in the presence of police officials.
