MQM urges PM, CM for safe recovery of 13 missing workers

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) claims that 13 men, who went missing on their way to Hyderabad late on Tuesday night, are its party office bearers/political workers –feared to have been abducted or detained unlawfully.

“We appeal to prime minister, federal interior minister, chief and home ministers of Sindh to step in on the matter and ensure save recovery of MQM activists, who are nowhere to be found since last night,” the MQM Rabita (Coordination) Committee told a press conference at party headquarters ‘Nine Zero.’

According to MQM, the families of the missing workers have not been able to contact their loved ones since 10:00 PM yesterday (Tuesday). They were going to Hyderabad to attend a marriage ceremony, the party spokesman added.

“This uncertainty is tearing their families apart. They need to know where their ‘flesh and blood’ are and also whether they are safe or not,” the committee said.
