At least nine people were killed and 19 others wounded when a van carrying them fell down a narrow, hilly road near Muzaffarabad city of Azad Kashmir.
Police and rescue teams said the incident took place along the Pier Chinese road in the east of Muzaffarabad city. Officials stated the van was overloaded and carrying 28 people, double than the actual content.
It was heading to Muzaffarabad.
According to spectators, the van met the accident when it ran out of the driver’s control, negotiating a curve on narrow and steep Pair Chinasi Road.
Rescue operations were underway at the prospect.
The beat and injured were shifted to Muzaffarabad hospital where medics pronounced two people dead on arrival, whereas seven others later succumbed to wounds.
