Nisar urges PTI to shun “politics of confrontation”

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali today lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for resorting to “politics of confrontation” on every issue.

“I was ashamed to hear abusive speeches of political leadership during the campaign of recently-held by-elections,” Nisar told media persons in Islamabad. “Poking fun and calling names brings a bad name for democracy as well as political leadership,” he said.

He urged the rival Tehreek-e-Insaf to show some political maturity and accept the defeat.

The interior minister recalled that government had accepted the PTI’s demand for formation of a judicial commission to probe accusations of systematic rigging.

“I hope that PTI leadership will think twice before speaking,” he said.

“Not a single vote was removed and changed after August 26,” Nisar said, rejecting the allegations of Imran Khan about conspiracy.
