LAHORE: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah, said on Wednesday that as long as there is presence of Parliament and democracy, no one can remove Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Addressing a function in Lahore, Khursheed Shah was responding to the prime minister’s concerns regarding the latter’s belief that ‘some people are trying to de-seat him.’
The Leader of Opposition said that although the PM’s belief is ‘quite possible’, however, it cannot happen with the co-existence of Parliament and democracy.
Khursheed Shah went on to say that to curb the menace of corruption, the action taken should be indiscriminate.
Trying to address the issue of the roots of terrorism, he said that investigations should be carried out to identify when and where terrorism and corruption originated, adding that why were Operation Zarb-e-Azab and other operations needed.
Khursheed Shah further said if the nation appreciates the actions of the country’s armed forces, then the politicians should be pleased with that.
