Pakistan attractive destination for foreign investors: PM


WASHINGTON: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan has emerged as an attractive and thriving market for business and investment opportunities.


Addressing business forum organized by US-Pakistan Business Council in Washington on Wednesday, he said Pakistan has greatly improved its internal security situation as well as achieve effective governance and public service delivery resulting in robust economy.

PM said we have made a strategic choice to take on terrorists of all hues and colours through a comprehensive strategy involving stringent law enforcement measures as well as targeted military operation.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan tax revenues increased by 33%. He said government is doing its best to overcome energy shortage.

Addressing the US-Pakistan Business Council, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani has said environment is conducive for investment in Pakistan.

Jilani said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision of peace and economic development is yielding positive results.

The ambassador said the Business Council will help promote bilateral and trade relations. He said next year’s session of the council will likely be held in Pakistan.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Prime Minister’s Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson also attended the forum.
