Pakistan lodges protest with India over woman killing


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has lodged a strong protest against the “unprovoked firing” by the India troops along the Line of Control (LoC).


According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman, Deputy High Commissioner of India was summoned to the Foreign Office on Tuesday to lodge a protest over the killing of a woman, identified as Fareeda, by Indian troops in Jandrot Sector on Saturday.

Pakistan also condemned the latest unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian security forces at the LoC in Nakial sector near Kotli and Bhimber Gali sector in which Pakistani posts were targeted.

Indian security forces have committed 37 and 24 unprovoked ceasefire violations on the LoC and the Working Boundary in July and August respectively, he added.
