MARDAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Wednesday that PTI s Tsunami of reforms have just started in Khyber Pakhtunkwa s (KP) province.
Imran Khan addressed the PTI rally at Railway Ground in Mardan.
The rally came in the backdrop of party s preparations for local body elections which will be held on May 30.
Addressing the rally, Chairman PTI Imran Khan said that local body elections will transfer power to grass-root level. He said that in local body system power will not be in hands of Ministers and Members Provincial Assembly (MPAs).
Imran Khan said that he had overheard an Awami National Party (ANP) that PTI s Tsunami had ended. In a open challenge to ANP chief, Imran Khan said that PTI s Tsunami had just started.
In an apparent reference to chief Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Moulana Fazlur Rehman, Imran Khan said that that the those who have sold oil on pretext of Islam will be held accountable for their actions.
Imran Khan also inquired the reason as to why ANP had not conducted local body elections in the past 5 years adding that such a measure would have meant that ANP would have to transfer its power to lower level.
Outlining KP government’s plans for future, Chairman PTI said that after local body elections, reforms in hospitals and education system are next in government s agenda.
He also highlighted the improvements made in police system, adding that KP police has been made exemplary and appointments are being made on merit.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI chairman Imran Khan is expected to address public gatherings in three different cities; Peshawar, Nowshera and Mardan.
