Rangers raid restaurant of MQM’s Ali Raza

KARACHI: The paramilitary force raided a restaurant that belonged to Ali Raza Abidi, an MNA of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) late Thursday night and arrested five people including the manager of the eatery.


The paratroopers raided the restaurant located in Karachi area of Clifton and arrested Ali Raza Abidi’s cousin Hassan Raza.

Three others were also taken into custody from the restaurant. Their identity is not yet disclosed. Computer and license were also seized during the raid.

Right after the rangers raid, several MQM leaders including Nasrin Jalil reached the restaurant to express solidarity with Ali Raza Abidi.

After the raid, Abidi reached the restaurant and confirmed to media about five arrests from his restaurant.

Later on early this morning, the paratroopers freed Hassan Raza.
