The city administration refused to grant permission to Dr. Tahir-UL-Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to carry a protest rally in the city on May 11– the day that commemorates the culmination of one year of the present regime- headed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
According to informants, the district administration decided not to allow the PAT to organize a protest demonstration based on the news reports, as sensitive agencies feared a terrorist attempt on the rally.
It should be noted here that the PAT solicited permission to carry out a rally from Liaquat Bagh to Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi. Disputes denied the license, the Awami Tehreek got the preparations of the rally into top gear
The PAT workers are being invited through SMSs to partake into the demo against the lack of organization.
