LAHORE: A resolution against Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Friday was passed in the Punjab Assembly as the legislators demanded inquiry against the party following the allegations levelled against MQM in the BBC report.
The routine agenda was postponed in the Friday session of Punjab Assembly as the members discussed BBC report which alleged that MQM received funding and training from India.
A resolution was tabled against MQM which was unanimously passed demanding fair and free inquiry of the report.
A demand of making a high level inquiry commission to investigate the matter was made to the federal government in the resolution. The resolution also said that if the allegations are proved to be true then Altaf Hussain and MQM must be tried treason case according to the article-6 of the constitution.
