Sheikh Rashid urges Lahore to save the country


LAHORE: Awami Muslim League leader and senior politician Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday asked citizens of Lahore to vote for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Aleem Khan in by-election for NA-122.


Addressing a PTI rally as part of electoral campaign in Doongi Ground in Samanabad, the firebrand politician urged the people of Lahore to “wake up” and save the country from loot and plunder. “There will be no change in Pakistan if Lahore doesn’t wake-up,” said he.

Rasheed launched a verbal salvo against the key figures of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) by criticizing them for their alleged involvement in what he said massive corruption in Nandipur Power Project and LNG import.

Rasheed added Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, PM-N candidate in NA-122, didn’t allow him to speak in the National Assembly for two years while he was custodian of the lower house of the parliament but God later “shut his mouth” by de-seating him from the coveted post.

Senior politician predicted that major changes were going to take place in the country over the next two to three months.

The AML leader warned that the PML-N was set to face what he described as “dhandla” (Something much bigger than rigging_ in the coming days.
