Sindh’s CM Shah cancels Iftar Dinner

KARACHI: Following deaths of almost 400 people at the hand of devastating hot weather in Karachi, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah cancelled his Iftar Party, according to Nadia Gabol, Chief Minister Sindh’s Coordinator for Human Rights.

According to Gabol, the Iftar party has been canceled owing to certain unavoidable circumstances.

Earlier, CM Shah invited political leaders from all political parties of Sindh to burnish his political image; but, all the leaders including ones from PML-N and Jamaat-e-Islami turned him down.

In an overnight TV talk, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain also rejected the Iftar invitation and urged on the CM to observe mourning today, instead.
