AJK PM pens letter to UN, calls for release of Yasin Malik

MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider wrote a letter to the United Nations calling for the release of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik.

In the letter addressed to secretary general Ban Ki Moon the prime minister requests the UN to take notice of illegal detention of Yasin Malik by Indian forces.

The letter said that Malik was critically ill.

Yasin Malik’s wife Mishal Malik in a press conference held on October 1 said that the Indian Army had kept him in a narrow cubicle where he was denied access to medical treatment or drinking water.

“The Indian Army has not let Yasin take his medicines or eat food for one and a half months now. He has not had a drop of water to drink since the last six days,” she said.
