Anees Qaimkhani files protective bail in SHC in Dr Asim case


KARACHI: Leader of Pak Sar Zameen party Anees Qaimkhani on Tuesday has submitted a protective bail in Sindh High Court (SHC) in Dr Asim case.


According to details, renowned lawyer M. Ilyas Khan filed Anees Qaimkhani’s bail, stating all the information regarding Hali road Hyderabad and Khayaban-e-Sahar Defence.

The hearing of the bail is likely to be held today whereas Anees Qaimkhani has also got his affidavit in this regard.

Earlier, Anti-terrorism court (ATC) issued non-bailable arrest warrant of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) disenchanted member Anees Qaimkhani in former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain’s case.

MQM’s mayoral candidate Waseem Akhtar, Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Abdul Qadir Patel and Qaimkhani were declared ‘fugitives’ in terror facilitation case against Dr Asim Hussain.

Investigation officer requested the court to register a new case in light of the fresh JIT report. The report nominates eight criminals including Hammad Siddique, Abdul Rehman Bhola and Umer.

A close aide to ex-president Asif Ali Zardari, Dr Asim Hussain has been accused of money laundering and unfair distribution of natural gas quotas as the federal petroleum minister.

He is facing a case in anti-terrorism court for allegedly providing safe havens to target killers and militants in his hospital.
