Arif Alvi’s first presser after being elected President of Pakistan, ‘will work for the betterment of the poor’

ISLAMABAD: After being elected as the thirteenth democratically elected President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi talked to the media outside the National Assembly.


Arif Alvi, thanked the politicians and supporters for their votes, “I would like to thank my political party Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) for showing faith in me and entrusting me with this opportunity, I am now the President of Pakistan and will not be favorable to or involved with PTI, Pakistan is my concern now.”

I will carry forward the austerity campaign being run by the PM and the government, I want to work for the betterment of the poor and needy of the country.

Answering a question about his current place of residence the President answered that he was currently residing in the Parliamentary lodges but will soon move out.

“I will try to provide, food, roofs and clothing to the needy, that is my aim and mission.” He re-iterated.

“My political struggle has been going on since the Ayub Era, I have faced many an obstacles and remained steadfast.” He further added.
