ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court has exempted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz from appearing before the court in Avenfield reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau(NAB), today (Monday).
As the hearing began both prayed to the court via their counsels to grant them exemption from appearing owing to the inclement weather.
However, Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar appeared in the court.
Lawyer Amjad Pervaiz will continue cross-examination of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia.
The Avenfield properties reference is among three filed against Nawaz and his family by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) last year on the Supreme Court’s directives.
Judge Mohammad Bashir of Accountability Court is presiding over the case.
