THATTA: The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Sunday defused a bomb found by authorities lodged on a railway track near Jungshahi railway station in Thatta, foiling a possible terror attempt on the trains bound to pass the route.
The bomb was found on the track leading to Karachi, just three kilometers from Jungshahi railway station in Thatta. The BD Squad from Hyderabad defused the 0.5kg bomb, according to SSP Thatta Shabbir Sethar.
The scheduled Hazara Express and Zakaria Express could have been the target of the bomb.
The police said seven suspects have been taken into custody after the incident.
After temporary closure of the station, trains bound to Karachi to interior Sindh and from Lahore and Rawalpindi to Karachi have been cleared to run by the authorities.
