Bilawal invites PTI to hold power show on May 12 at Hakeem Saeed ground

KARACHI: Pakistan peoples’ party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday in a better interest of peace in Karachi has invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman (PTI) Imran Khan to hold public rally at Hakeem Saeed Ground on May 12.


PPP chairman in his tweet has also asked its party to find another location in the metropolis for May 12 rally.

“Karachi is our own city, we can hold rally anywhere,” he added.

He said that PPP had earlier planned to hold public rally on May 12 at Hakeem Saeed ground in order to pay tribute to its martyrs.

PPP planned to hold rally at Hakeem Saeed ground in district East, as most lives were lost in District East. We applied for and received all necessary legal permissions,” he tweeted.

PPP chairman said that PTI has planned to hold a rally at Mazar-e-Quaid but they arbitrarily changed their venue and had set up a camp at Hakeem Saeed ground.

Bilawal also called for a complete inquiry to held all those responsible accountable.

On Monday night clash between workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had resorted to violence over a venue dispute for their May 12 rallies.

The two parties were at loggerheads after PTI and PPP announced to hold a public gathering at Hakeem Saeed Ground in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.

Workers belonging to both parties were involved in aerial firing and pelting stones at one another late Monday evening.

However, local police then evacuated the ground after workers of both parties resorted to violence.


Traffic on the University Road was affected following the clash. Two cars were set on fire in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

While speaking to journalists, PTI’s Ali Haider Zaidi claimed that the PPP pelted their party workers with stones and that Najmi Alam, who he asserted was intoxicated, had called 70 or 80 suspects of the infamous Lyari gang war.

While addressing reporters  last night, Saeed Ghani, the head of PPP’s Karachi chapter, said the PTI had announced its rally at the Quaid’s Mausoleum but set up its camp across us in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

Famous televangelist, new member of PTI Aamir Liaquat Hussain was allegedly severely beaten in a last night clash between Pakistan People’s Party and PTI over a venue dispute.

In Social Media, a video is viral showing Aamir Liaquat claiming that he went to resolve the dispute and bring both the parties into reconciliation mode, however he was welcomed by alleged mal-treatment by PPP workers, who tore his shirt buttons.
