ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif will meet Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday to escalate cooperation against the government.
Sources said that the separate meetings of the aforementioned opposition leaders will take place after today’s National Assembly session, with Bilawal meeting Fazl at 6 pm while Shehbaz will meet JUI-F chief at 8 pm.
The meetings come a day after PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz invited Bilawal at Jati Umra to discuss the current political situation of the country and to consult with each other on starting a campaign and to bring the public on the roads against the government. Disapproval of the federal budget 2019-20 was also discussed by the two leaders.
The said opposition leaders will discuss strategies to develop a campaign against the government and forming an opposition alliance.
Last month, after an unofficial iftar dinner hosted by Bilawal at the Zardari House in federal capital, PPP and PML-N leaders have announced to form All Parties Conference (APC) which will be presided by Fazlur Rahman.
