Body of MQM London leader Dr Hasan Arif recovered from car in Karachi

KARACHI: Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) London chapter, Professor Hasan Zafar Arif, was reportedly found dead on Sunday morning.


According to NewsOne, police have confirmed the identity of body as 70-year-old Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London  (MQM-L) leader Dr Hasan Zafar Arif.

Ibrahi Haideri SHO said they recovered Arif’s body from the backseat of a car in the city’s Ibrahim Hyderi area.

The SHO said that the cause of death will be ascertained after a post-mortem examination is conducted. “Further investigations are ongoing,” he said.

Senior Superintendent Police Malir Rao Anwar also said that no marks of torture were found on Dr Arif’s body

At JPMC, Dr Seemi Jamali said that no signs of torture or bullet wounds were found on the body.

In October 2016, Sindh Rangers took Hasan Arif  into custody from outside the Karachi Press Club before they could address a press conference.
