British Foreign Secretary meets Army Chief, lauds Pak Army


RAWALPINDI: British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond visited General Headquarters and called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement issued here on Tuesday.


During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including security situation in the region were discussed.

British Foreign Secretary Mr Philip Hammond acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s sincere efforts and sacrifices in war against terrorism and for stability in the region, the statement said.

Earlier, on arrival at General Headquarters, Foreign Secretary Mr Philip Hammond laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the Guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.
