CJP takes notice of Shahrukh Jatoi’s transfer to hospital, demands report from IGP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar Tuesday took notice of reported shifting of accused Sharukh Jatoi, the key accused in Shahzeb murder case.

According to NewsOne, the Chief Justice of Pakistan has called report from Inspector General of Police Sindh and Inspector General Jails Sindh within 24 hours.

The accused and others shifted from jail to hospital after cancellation of bail from Supreme Court of Pakistan.

On Feb, 01 Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered to re arrest  Shahrukh Jatoi and others involved in the murder of Shahzeb Khan.

In December last year, CJP took a suo moto notice, following a civil society petition pleading the Supreme Court to overrule the Sindh High Court decision; as the lower court relieved terrorism charges from the  convicted Shahrukh Jatoi and ordered the re trail of Shahzeb murder case.

The court also granted bail to Sharukh and his accomplices.

Shahrukh Jatoi was sentenced to death by Anti Terrorism Court; however his counsel pleaded the Sindh High Court to de-rule the decision made by ATC as the accused was juvenile when he committed his crime; therefore terrorism charges eventually become void upon him.

The Court also ordered the re arrest and placing the names of Shahrukh Jatoi and other accomplices in Exit Control List (ECL).

Shahzeb was gunned down by Jatoi in a posh locality of Karachi on December 25, 2012.
