CJP takes suo motu notice of minor girl burnt alive after rape in Chichawatni

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan on Thursday has took suo motu notice of eight-year-old girl who succumbed to her wounds after being burnt alive and allegedly raped in Chichawatni.

In a statement by Supreme Court (SC), CJP has sought report from IGP Punjab within 24 hours.

On Tuesday, eight-year-old ‘Noor Fatima’ was burnt alive after being raped in Muhammadabad village near Chichawatni.

According to details, minor girl went to buy some sweet from a shop but did not return home. Her family found her in unconscious condition after three hours search having burn wounds on 90 percent of her body.

Noor Fatima was shifted to hospital from where minor girl died of her wounds. The post-mortem report has confirmed that eight-year-old girl was raped before being burnt.

The family of the deceased has appealed to CM Punjab and Chief Justice of Pakistan to provide them justice. Meanwhile, Police have arrested a shopkeeper identified as Imdad on suspicion.
