KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Saturday paid a visit to Karachi Central Jail and laid a foundation stone of anti-terrorism court’s building inside the jail.
Addressing a ceremony on this occasion, CJP said that Pakistan is facing troubled circumstances after the attack on World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
He stated that the Pakistanis all across the world are bearing internal and external threats due to terrorist accusations and that several innocent nationals have given their lives in the name of world peace.
We are well prepared to fight any terrorization of extremists and militants as the government has adopted precautionary measures to stand against violence, he added.
Anwar Zaheer Jamali directed the jail authorities to ensure better environment and protection of the appointed judges.
Moreover, CJP pledged to provide all the assistance in establishing counter terrorism courts in the metropolis.
