LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar advised incumbent chief minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif to also focus on the other social aspects of human lives along with constructing ‘Metro Bus Project’, ‘Orange Line project’ adding that “if CM Punjab loves to promote his photo, then he must come and clarify it before the apex court”.
He observed these remarks while hearing a case pertaining to contaminated water being spilled in rivers, lamenting that the citizens of Lahore are drinking the same contaminated, toxic water.
He also remarked that the Punjab government must play ads of those socio-economic indicators which they have failed to deliver
CJP also remarked that the Punjab government focuses to promote 10 years of success, but why not it informs the people about the lacking in social sectors that relate to the welfare of its citizens.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan while hearing Government ads case used for personal projection, ordered chief minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif to submit 5 million rupees from his pocket that could cover the cost of ads which comes along with CM Punjab’s picture.
The Supreme Court was informed that the ads played on Electronic Media and Print Papers cost 5 million rupees to national exchequer.
