Contempt of court plea against sealing Royal Palm Club filed in civil court

LAHORE: A contempt of court plea against sealing Royal Palm Club in Lahore has been filed in civil court on Tuesday.


The plea has been filed by Ramazan Sheikh and Umar Mir.

It has been stated in the petition that despite of the restraining order the club was sealed by the Railway authorities which is a clear violation of the law.

The plea has explaineed that railway police was also shown the court orders but they did not comply with the orders and sealed the club after forcibly driving everyone out.

The petitioner while terming this act of railway authorities tantamount to contempt of court has demanded the relevant proceedings against those responsible.

Police sealed the club on Friday enforcing administration’s order over alleged violation of an agreement between the railways department and the club for the closure.
