ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Thursday the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will create opportunities for the whole region and the government will facilitate Chinese companies working on the project.
Addressing a delegation of Chinese workers and ambassadors, PM said the government prioritises CPEC which will promote the existing close relationship between two countries, while the Chinese ambassador conveyed sincere wishes of Chinese Premier and President to PM Khan.
The Chinese ambassador said the Chinese leadership is looking forward to PM Khan’s visit of their country.
Presiding a high-level session regarding preparations of his upcoming visit of China, the Premier said the visit will promote two-way relationship and cooperation on various sectors between the nations.
Premier said CPEC One initially only included three roads and a few power plants and now we want to expand the whole project which will open new doors of prosperity and development in the region.
PM said the main purpose of his trip to China is promotion of cooperation of China in fields of science and technology among other eight big sectors.
PM said in the first phase technical education, skill development, transportation, upgrading of Main Line One are included while in the second phase agriculture, education, health, water projects are included.
PM said 20,000 scholarships will be provided to Pakistani students to study in China.
PM said want to learn from China’s experience in alleviating poverty and agriculture, industrial developments of the country. PM said coal mining, high-speed railway and manufacturing sectors will also be focus of the visit.
