Disqualification not a first for Nawaz, Maryam taunts previous court verdicts

SIALKOT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and possible heir to the PML-N dynastic throne Maryam Nawaz, while referring to Supreme Court’s verdict on disqualification under Article 62, has said that this was not the first time that Nawaz Sharif, her father had been disqualified, taunting court decisions of the part after which Nawaz Sharif returned and was re-elected as Prime Minister multiple times.

Addressing a convention of her party’s social media workers, Maryam said, I got to know about Supreme Court’s verdict while she was heading to today’s gathering.

She said that this was not the first time that Nawaz Sharif had been disqualified or punished, but the former premier “continues to be added, instead of being subtracted.”

“Nawaz was disqualified for life; he was barred from heading his party,” the former first daughter said. “But he resides in the hearts of the people.”
