LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif responded over the latest Supreme Court verdict pertaining to the length of disqualification saying the verdict is a revenge against him.
Having informal chat with Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz) workers, Nawaz also added that he was expecting the same verdict as it has only targeted him.
Furthermore, he added that PML(N) stalwarts must wait for his call to lead a public movement in a bid to restore the respect for vote narative.
On Friday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan served a lifetime disqualification for the parliamentarians who have been de-seated under the article 62(1)(f) of the constitution.
The verdict mainly affected Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Tareen from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
However, PML(N) decried the verdict, remarking it to be a conspiracy against Nawaz, whereas Pakistan People’s Party suggested PML(N) to hold restraint and avoid confrontation.
As said above that the verdict mainly affects Nawaz and Tareen, however the latter commented using his twitter account that it does not affect him as his review is stil pending before the court.
I always believed 62 1(f) to be for life but not applicable in my case.Full money trail provided of tax paid Income, property declared in assets of children and not mine on advice of tax consultant. This was the only issue. My review is still pending and IA justice will prevail
