KARACHI: Counsel for Dr Asim Hussain, former federal minister for petroleum, on Thursday claimed that his client was forced to give confessional video statement against Owais Muzaffar alias Tappi.
Talking to media, Anwar Mansoor Khan said that Asim Hussain did not even remember giving the statement and it seems that the statement was taken under duress.
Mansoor added that the video is looking quite old and was probably made at the time when the former minister was in Rangers custody.
In the video statement aired on local televison channels on Wednesday, hurled startling allegations at former president Asif Ali Zardari’s foster brother Owais Muzaffar alias Tappi.
Dr Hussain had said that former Sindh minister Owais Muzaffar was the ‘working’ chief minister of Sindh during the second term of the Pakistan Peoples Party and was involved in doing all sorts of corruption.
