Driver killed as Indian troops target School van along LoC: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Indian forces on Thursday targeted a school van along the Line of Control (LoC) and martyred its driver in the Battal sector, ISPR reported.

According to Inter-Services Public relations (ISPR), the van was targeted when it was carrying school children in Battal sector.

“Indian unethical and unprofessional approach across the LoC continues terrorising civilians,” DG ISPR condemned the terror act.

Major General Asif Ghafoor reiterated that such attacks are a violation of the Geneva Convention and a clear violation of the 2003 ceasefire agreement between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

A student of a college, who was present in the vehicle, said the incident took place when they were on their way from Daramsal to Battal.

Earlier in a day, two women were injured by Indian troops in an unprovoked firing. Ponch batal and Khoirata sector were targeted.

In 2017, Indian forces committed more than 1900 ceasefire violations.
