PESHAWAR: A 5.0 magnitude earthquake jolted Peshawar, Mardan, Swat and other surrounding areas on Monday.
People in the area rushed out of their homes in panic.
Citizens started reciting ‘Kalma Tayabba’ with a hope to prevent any natural disaster.
According to Met Office, epicenter of the earthquake region was in Koh e Hindukush region. However, no loss of life or property was reported from the affected areas.
On October 26, a 7.5 magnitude quake ripped across Pakistan and Afghanistan, killing more than 390 people in total.
Pakistan’s confirmed death toll so far stands at 287, with 2,227 people injured and nearly 25,000 homes damaged, mostly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where temperatures are already plunging below zero at night.
Arround 70 aftershocks have been felt after 26th October quake. No further damage had been reported, but there was still danger from these tremors to damaged houses and buildings.
