ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday has issued a code of conduct and schedule for general elections 2018, Newsone reported.
While addressing press conferencein Islamabad, Secretary Election Commission Babar Yaqoob said the country was moving towards the elections as per the law and the Constitution, adding that Elections will held on July 25.
“Public notice to be issued by Returning officers (RO’s) tomorrow,” he added.
He further said ECP will finalize all matters before July 25, Candidates can submit their nomination papers between June 2 to June 6.
ECP will issue the eligible list of candidates on June 7, whereas scrutiny process for nomination papers of candidates will take place on June 14.
Last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer rejecting/accepting the nomination papers 19.06.2018.
Last date for deciding of appeals by the Appellate Tribunal 26.06.2018.
Publication of revised list of candidates on 27.06.2018.
Last date for withdrawal of candidature and Publication of revised list of candidates 28.06.2018.
Allotment of Election Symbol to contesting candidate 29.06.2018.
Polling day 25.07.2018.
ECP has further advised political parties to educate voters on how to cast votes but refrain from exhibiting notices, signs, banners or flags.
