ISLAMABAD: The Election commission of Pakistan has recommended three possible dates July 25-27 for holding general elections 2018, Newsone reported.
ECP has sent summary to president Mamnoon Hussain to hold general elections 2018 on either July 25, 26 or 27.
According to sources, ECP has asked president to set a date under the Elections Act 2017.
The ruling government is expected to complete its five-year term on May 31, after which caretaker government will conduct elections in 60 days.
In this regard, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has finalised the names of Zaka Ashraf and Jalil Abbas Jilani for the post of caretaker prime minister.
