ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday underwent a hernia operation at a private hospital.
Abbasi, who is in judicial custody in connection with an inquiry into the LNG scandal, was shifted to the hospital on November 4. He is expected to stay in the medical facility for a few more days.
According to details, the government has been informed about the former prime minister’s stay in the hospital.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz veteran is in custody in connection with a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry into the LNG scandal.
The politician was moved to a private hospital located in Sector H-8 where he was expected to undergo surgery.
An accountability court had extended the physical remand of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Abbasi and former finance minister Miftah Ismail by 14 days and ordered the accused to be presented on September 26 in an ongoing probe into the liquefied natural gas (LNG) case.
