KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar has announced that he would not participate in the general elections of 2018, Newsone reported.
“I have decided to hand over convenorship charge to the party’s Bahadurabad group,” he said while addressing PIB general workers session on late night Sunday.
Sattar said that he don’t want the position of convenor as charity, adding that he will not join any other party.
On the other hand MQM Bahadarabad group have expressed disappointment over Sattar’s decision.
The rift in the party emerged after Farroq Sattar nominated his close aide Kamran Tessori for Senate elections followed by ‘Rabta Committee’s dismissal of latter’s nomination causing the party to be divided in two different grups: MQM(PIB) and MQM(Bahadurabad).
