KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Dr Farooq Sattar has announced on Monday to challenge Senate elections in court and Election commission of Pakistan (ECP).
“Will challenge the results in ECP as well as in court,” he said adding, “We have issued show-cause notices to six MPAs for voting PPP in the elections.”
Addressing a press conference at PIB Colony, Dr Farooq Sattar said that PPP did most of ‘Horse trading’ in Senate elections and has forced our MPAs to change their loyalty.
He further said that Senate elections was not free and fair and Sindh was made Balochistan during the election.
The veteran politician also alleged that not only his MPAs were bought but they were being harassed and menaced too.
“Not only our MPAs were bought, they were threatened and harassed,” he alleged.
The MQMP chief admitted that his party is going through hard times adding that MQM had never faced the rifts within the party like they are facing now a days.
He said that a political stage being prepared in Karachi for PTI, PSP and PPP. Farooq Sattar has advised Mohajir community to maintain unity and solidarity between them.
It is pertinent to mention here that MQMP had only won one seat of Barrister Farogh Naseem in Senate elections 2018 and couldn’t able to retain their remaining three seats in Senate.
