ECP today, adjourned the hearing till March 13th, 2018.

Rabta Committee had nominated Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui as party’s convener after dismissing Farooq Sattar.
However today, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s lawyer and only newly elect Senator from MQM(P) ticket Farogh Naseem did not show up before ECP.

The rift in the party emerged after Farroq Sattar nominated his close aide Kamran Tessori for Senate elections followed by ‘Rabta Committee’s dismissal of latter’s nomination causing the party to be divided in two different grups: MQM(PIB) and MQM(Bahadurabad).

MQM(PIB) belongs to Farooq Sattar where he resides.

However, Sattar had dismissed the role of ECP to resolve the friction of MQM, saying that ECP have no jurisdiction to settle the political matters.
